The Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine covers patient care, research and education over a span of divisions and programs from cancer, obesity and diabetes, to lung, heart, kidney, and infectious diseases, as well as medical ethics and public health programs. Physicians provide patient care services throughout New York City, the country and the world. Faculty and physician-scientists conduct biomedical research locally or internationally through various partnerships. The department is known for an innovative approach to education, promoting mentoring relationships that build young physicians’ careers, and producing physicians and scientists who become pioneers in their fields.
