The Division of General Internal Medicine brings together the inpatient and outpatient internal medicine programs to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care, educate the next generation of internal medicine physicians, and conduct patient-centered collaborative research. Research efforts, which are funded by the NIH and the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, are specifically focused on optimizing the health of people living with chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity; cardiovascular disease prevention; and the care of vulnerable populations in the United States and abroad.
