The Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine offers an array of clinical, educational and research programs that promote excellence in geriatrics and palliative medicine within the medical institution and community at large. The division cares for older patients through two inpatient services called the ACE Unit (Acute Care for Elders) and the Geriatrics Consultation Service. The Center on Aging provides outpatient geriatric primary medical care. There are also inpatient and outpatient palliative care services that support patients and their families in symptom and stress management for serious or chronic illnesses. The division offers educational opportunities within the division for medical students, residents and fellows, including a one-year Geriatric Medicine Fellowship and a one-year Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship.
