The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine provides quality care to patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders like thyroid disease and diabetes; conducts clinical and translational research; and trains medical students and residents to help them become successful clinicians and physician-scientists. Research efforts include participation in a multi-center study on how to best control cardiovascular risk in people with type II diabetes, and an NIH-funded project to evaluate the effects of hormones on cognitive function. The comprehensive training program includes a two-year endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism joint fellowship between Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
