The Laser Vision Center at Weill Cornell Medicine Ophthalmology offers laser vision correction surgery, also known as refractive surgery, using the most advanced equipment. Patients will meet the center’s staff and surgeons upon the first visit, and undergo an eye examination to see whether laser correction surgery is right for them. Common vision conditions that can be treated with laser surgery include nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and gradual loss of near vision after age 40. Vision correction surgeries offered at the center also include intraocular procedures such as cataract extraction and the placement of implantable contact lenses. If surgery is right for a patient, a Laser Vision Center surgeon will perform the procedure as well as all the pre- and postoperative care.
