The Risk Management and Insurance Department promotes a safe and healthy environment for patients, faculty, staff, students and the visiting public by applying proven risk management principles and insurance where appropriate. The department manages the Weill Cornell Malpractice Insurance Program, administers and manages certificates of insurance, and works with the Physician Organization to create policies designed to reduce loss, among other responsibilities. It also manages many types of insurance claims, including property, general and auto liability, student health and student disability.
