Pediatric Cardiology is a combined program that brings together pediatric cardiology and pediatric cardiovascular surgery to provide expert care for children with heart disease and disorders. The program offers diagnostic imaging, such as echocardiography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as interventional cardiology procedures, including balloon angioplasty, stenting of blood vessels and device closure of heart defects. Cardiovascular surgery can correct congenital heart defects and treat conditions including atrial and ventricular septal defects, pulmonary stenosis and heart tumors. Physicians working with the Weill Cornell Fetal Care Center also provide high-end fetal diagnostic echocardiography and counseling for parents who are expecting a child with a heart disorder.
