The Neuromuscular Center provides comprehensive care for patients with disorders that affect their nerves and muscles, including chronic neck and back pain, numbness in the hands and feet and nerve injury. The center also treats patients with neuropathy, which means that their nerves aren’t functioning correctly, resulting in symptoms including muscle cramps, pain, burning or tingling, and patients with muscular conditions, known broadly as myopathy. The center is actively involved in clinical research trials for several neuromuscular disorders, including diabetic neuropathy and Lou Gehrig’s disease. It also provides continuing education training in neurophysiology for physicians, residents and fellows, and electro diagnostic technicians.
