Through a variety of programs and initiatives, it extends its mission to care, discover, and teach on an international scale. Students, trainees, and faculty foster positive change by exchanging knowledge and skills across cultures and by helping to build capacity in emerging and resource-poor countries.

At a meeting of our Board of Overseers on September 26, followed by a community Town Hall meeting on October 1, I was pleased to present the working plan for our institutional vision for the next decade. This working plan articulates key goals and objectives for Weill Cornell Medicine over the next five to ten years and encompasses our entire mission as an academic medical institution.

Medical School Debt Reduction

Medical schools around the country, including Weill Cornell Medicine, are concerned about the rising costs of medical education and have implemented a variety of measures over the years aimed at reducing or eliminating debt. The goal of these initiatives is keep medical education accessible to a talented and diverse body of students, while ensuring that young physicians are able to pursue productive and fulfilling careers, across a range of specialties, without undue financial strain.
