The Neuberger Berman Foundation Lung Cancer Research Center conducts translational research with an emphasis on lung cancer and other chest malignancies. One research focus is on the area that surrounds malignant tumors, called the microenvironment, and how identifiable mutations in that region support disease progression and growth. The center regularly collaborates with various departments, including Biochemistry and Population Health Sciences, and works with outside institutions, including Cornell University in Ithaca, Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar and the Houston Methodist Research Institute. Center scientists also educate graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and surgeons-in-training.
