Surgeons are leaders in divisions including trauma, burns and plastic/ reconstructive surgery. The department advances the field of surgery through biomedical research in areas such as gastrointestinal metabolic surgery, stem cell therapies and wound healing. Educational programs offer specialized surgical training in colon and rectal surgery, vascular surgery and burn surgery, to prepare our students for a variety of procedures.
