The Program for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress treats and researches trauma-, anxiety- and mood-related disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, phobias and depression. The program offers treatment for anyone who has experienced trauma that puts them at risk for PTSD, including combat, interpersonal violence or terrorist attacks and wellness programs for military service members and their families. It also conducts clinical research to develop new treatments for PTSD and other mood or anxiety disorders, and trains Department of Defense clinicians and others to conduct PTSD treatment using virtual reality exposure therapy.
