The Nuclear Medicine Division treats and diagnoses diseases using radioactive materials. The division is composed of physicians, pharmacists, chemists, mathematicians and other scientists, who work together to deliver personalized examinations to patients. They use a portfolio of radiopharmaceutical tools including tracers and radioactive gases to assess ventilation, radiolabel patients’ white blood cells to localize infections and perform other tasks. They’ve developed novel treatments using radiopharmaceuticals for conditions including lymphoma and prostate cancer, and collaborate with other divisions, departments and institutions on a wide range of research projects.
