Lorraine Caputo, MSW
I am a Psychotherapist specializing in women’s mental health: postpartum depression, women with infertility, and women with a history of trauma; I also specialize in working with adolescent girls who are depressed, anxious, have eating disorders and who have trauma histories. I am a trained psychoanalyst, interpersonal psychotherapist and family therapist. As a play- family therapist I treat children and their families where there are issues related to anxiety, depression and ADHD. I obtained my MSW from Smith College School for Social Work in 1986 and trained at Bronx Children’s Psychiatric Center and at Montefiore Hospital’s Outpatient Adult Psychiatry Department. Post-masters I pursued Family Therapy training with children and adolescents and then a Certificate in Interpersonal and Relational Psychoanalysis. I worked for many years in outpatient psychiatry departments such as the Payne Whitney Clinic of New York Hospital. After 20 years of private practice in New York, I began a Private Practice in Maplewood, New Jersey in the last 5 years.
