Janet Zinn, LCSW
Janet Zinn is a psychotherapist in private practice working with individuals, couples, and groups. She treats long-term clients who are working on healing life circumstances or experiences. She also sees couples or family members prior to the wedding. Though everyone says “It’s the happiest time in your life,” many find this to be a stressful period when family dynamics surface to challenge the engaged couple. In addition, sometimes there are communication difficulties to address within the relationship, and in doing so, the couple can enter into a promising future together. In conjunction with marriage issues and her ongoing clients, there are families and individuals who are in crisis and seek counseling for a time-limited period. They are looking for assistance when confronted with losses such as divorce, death, illness, caregiving, or sudden change.
Because this is not Janet Zinn’s first career, she is able to use her varied history to tap into a great number of personal and professional experiences. She worked in a fortune 100 investment banking firm prior to her career shift to psychotherapy. And, she has held jobs in other industries, as well. As a psychotherapist, Janet has worked with teens, young adults, and women of all ages individually and in groups around body image issues. She has been trained in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She was a first responder following 9/11. She continues to consult with companies whose employees experience trauma or loss. Janet’s clients consist of adolescents and adults. Through the years, Janet Zinn has seen clients suffering from depression, anxiety disorders, divorce, the stress of being a caregiver, bereavement, eating disorders, as well as those suffering from other difficult life circumstances. She has written and designed programs for schools, companies and special groups. And, she continues to educate herself to expand her expertise in her field.
