Global Health
My interests are focused on the development of pre-hospital care, emergency medicine and community-focused disaster mitigation methods in low-income settings. The bulk of my overseas engagement is in India.
My current projects include EMcounter (www.emcounter.com), an online tool aimed at capturing the epidemiology of medical emergencies in rural and urban India, and project mumbaiVOICES (www.mumbaivoices.com), a web-based application that facilitates a citizen driven analysis of urban disaster response.
There is opportunity to engage in various aspects of EMcounter, especially if you have programming and computational skills, in addition to some basic science / epidemiology background. There are also opportunities for students to engage in mumbaiVOICES and other training initiatives.
