Global Health
Dr. Chan has a keen interest in international healthcare and Ophthalmology, and is currently involved in helping establish clinical, teaching, and research collaborations in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
Current Projects include:
Mexico City, Mexico - Working with Dr. Virgilio Morales, Dr. Hugo Quiroz-Mercado, and Dr. Maria Ana Martinez-Castellanos at Asociacion para Evitar la Ceguera en Mexico (APEC) to improve care for Retinopathy of Prematurity and Pediatric Retinal Disease.
Tanzania - Working with Dr. Warren Johnson and the faculty at Weill Bugando Medical College in improving the curriculum for Ophthalmology to the medical students and housestaff.
Southeast Asia - Involved in various teaching programs and clinical activities, including teaching of vitreoretinal surgery.
