Global Health

I direct the HIV clinical trials unit at Weill-Cornell and am funded to mentor developing investigators and staff doing HIV/AIDS clinical trials both in New York and at GHESKIO (the Haitian Group for the Study of Kaposi's Sarcoma and Opportunistic Infections) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The later project, which I became involved with about 5 years ago, is in collaboration with Cornell faculty members Drs. Pape, Charles, Fitzgerald, and Johnson. In addition, I also help teach a course in clinical research at Quesqueya University in Port-au-Prince. I spend approximately 2 – 4 weeks per year in Haiti. I am happy to help guide students to select and develop their global health electives and projects.
