John A. Carucci M.D., Ph.D. is the Director of Mohs Micrographic and Dermatologic Surgery and Associate Professor of Dermatology at Weil Medical College of Cornell. After simultaneously completing both M.D. and Ph.D. studies at the State University of New York-Health Science Center at Brooklyn, Dr. Carucci completed training in Internal Medicine at Yale University and in Dermatology at New York University's Skin & Cancer Unit. Dr. Carucci went on to complete a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic and Advanced Dermatologic Surgery at Yale that included extensive training in Mohs’ surgery, reconstructive surgery, and laser surgery

 

Dr. Carucci is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology, and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He is also a member of the International Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative (ITSCC), a group dedicated to improving management of organ transplant recipients with skin cancer. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Research Committee for ITSCC, coordinating joint projects involving investigators throughout the United States. He is also currently Chairman of the Skin Cancer Committee for the American Academy of Dermatology.

 

Dr. Carucci is the author of numerous publications on topics ranging from skin cancer to facial rejuvenation and continues to lecture nationally. He has also been featured as an expert in skin cancer and laser surgery in the popular press in Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire as well as on television on Good Day New York and NBC News.
