Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Helfet is interested in orthopaedic science related to trauma and heterotopic ossification. Special clinical research interests include: (i) fractures of the pelvis/acetabulum, (ii) the management of polytraumatized patients with orthopaedic injuries, (iii) minimally invasive fracture surgery, (iv) complex articular fractures including calcaneus, pilon, knee, elbow, and shoulder, (v) post-traumatic deformity correction and (vi) management of fracture nonunions.
