Biography
Dr. Sherr received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1981 and completed his radiation oncology residency at Columbia University Medical Center in 1986. He was certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology in 1987.
His main areas of clinical interest involve the use of radiation therapy to treat tumors of the central nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, head and neck region, as well as lymphomas. In addition, he has expertise in the use of total body irradiation as part of the conditioning regimen for bone marrow transplantation, total skin electron beam therapy for the treatment of cutaneous lymphomas, and stereotactic radiosurgry for the treatment of brain tumors.
Dr. Sherr currently holds the positions of director of Cornell's radiation oncology residency program and assistant professor of clinical radiology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
He is a memmber of numerous medical societies, including the American College of Radiology, the American College of Radiation Oncology, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
