As a member of the Division of Infectious Diseases and a full time clinician at the Center for Special Studies (CSS) , the HIV clinic of New York Presbyterian Hospital, I have been involved in the care and study of HIV infection for over a decade.
I am the Medical Director of The Starfish Project, a training and technical assistance initiative based at the CSS. Starfish has provided training and technical assistance to academic-based HIV care programs in Nigeria, Africa. Cornell medical students and New York Presbyterian Hospital Medicine Residents, some who have traveled to Nigeria with the project. Currently the project supports a biweekly internet-based, live video case conference between clinicians in Abuja Nigeria and CSS.
