Federal Express Service from WMC to Ithaca

An express mail service is available to transport your samples from WCMC to Ithaca. The following steps outline the procedures for using the express mail service:

Place Your Order

All orders must be placed online.

The DNA Sequencing Facility does not accept paper or faxed sequencing orders. Once you have placed your order, you will receive an order number. You must write this order number, along with your name, telephone number, and lab location on the envelope containing your samples.

Place Your Samples into a Properly Labeled Envelope

Place your samples in properly labeled envelope and seal the envelope closed. Make sure that you write your order number, name, telephone number, and lab location on the envelope. The envelope should be unpadded and the appropriate size for the quantity and size of the samples being sent.

Drop off your package

Drop off your package before 4:30 PM in the DNA Sequencing Drop-Off box located in basement corridor of the B-building (near mail room by the Federal Express drop box). It will be included in a Federal Express mailing to Ithaca, which is sent out every Monday through Thursday, at 4:30 PM (except institutional holidays). Any package not meeting the above requirements will be sent to Environmental Health and Safety for disposal.

Holiday Schedule

Each year the DNA Sequencing Facility along with the rest of Cornell in Ithaca is closed from Christmas through the New Year. Samples will not be shipped during this time and may include several days before Christmas or after New Year's depending on the year. Contact Environmental Health and Safety for specific holiday closing dates.
