Study Specific Report
A study specific report must be made with each new grant proposal and/or research protocol (both human and animal subjects) application. The purpose of the study specific disclosure is to determine - for each study - whether there is a financial interest that needs to be managed.
New Conflicts Memo for the Electronic Routing Form (ERF)
The Office of Research Integrity—Conflicts Management Program, Office of Sponsored Research Administration, and the Joint Clinical Trials Office would like to announce a new process:
"Conflicts Memo for the Electronic Routing Form (ERF)" for uploading into the ERF in place of the Study Specific Report (SSR) as follows:
- If the investigator or key personnel does not have a financial interest related to the research, simply check “NO” on the Conflicts Memo and upload it into the ERF in place of the SSR when it is routed. Once this is done, no further action is required related to conflicts disclosures.
- If the investigator or key personnel does have a financial interest related to the research, check “YES” on the Conflicts Memo and upload the form in the ERF in place of the SSR. Note that the SSR itself will no longer be uploaded into the ERF. However, the conflicted researcher will need to log in to the conflicts.med.cornell.edu online system and create an SSR for the project. The conflicts management staff will review the SSR in the online system and follow up with the researcher and/or any related administrative offices as necessary.
All WCMC researchers will need to complete the 2012-2013 Annual Survey before being able to complete a Study Specific Report. All Study Specific Reports will be generated directly from the new system and must be completed by any researchers who have a financial interest related to the research or project.
Completing a Study Specific Report
To complete a Study Specific Report visit the new Conflicts Management System and sign in with your WCMC user name and password. If you have not yet created an Annual Survey you must do so first by following the on-screen prompts. Once your Annual Survey has been completed click on the button labeled "Create Study Specific Report."
Paper copies of the Study Specific Report will only be given to investigators who are not WCMC employees. If an investigator is not a WCMC employee, he/she will have to request a paper copy by contacting the Conflicts Management Program at (646) 962-8189 or conflicts@med.cornell.edu.
