Biography
Dr. Howe was educated in England, and graduated with a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, England. Her thesis research, which examined early mitogenic signaling pathways, established her interest in the area of cell growth, and laid the foundation for her current research focus on breast cancer. After postdoctoral studies with Chris Marshall at the Chester Beatty labs (Institute of Cancer Research, London) and with Art Weiss at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute / University of California, San Francisco, Dr. Howe moved to Weill Cornell Medical College. Here she pursues a translational research program aimed at defining molecular components contributing to breast neoplasia, with the corollary goal of identifying and evaluating molecular targets for prevention and/or treatment of human breast cancer.
