Hassan Ghomrawi, Ph.D., M.P.H., Assistant Professor of Public Health, specializes in health economics and health outcomes research, with particular interests in the field of orthopedics and post-acute rehabilitation care. He is currently the co-director of the legacy cohort registry of total joint replacement that is evaluating outcomes in orthopedic and medical devices in collaboration with researchers at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) .

Examples of the projects he is currently involved in include: evaluating the effects of patient expectations of recovery on outcomes of total joint replacement patients, and designing and evaluating instruments that measure functional disability related to orthopedic surgery. Dr. Ghomrawi recently received a K99/R00 career development award from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to study the impact of discordant patient-surgeon expectations on joint arthroplasty outcomes.
