Staff Promotions

Jared A. Leff, MS, has been promoted to Program Supervisor in the Division of Health Policy. Mr. Leff works on a variety of cost and cost-effectiveness analysis projects relating to the diagnosis and treatment of substance abuse, HIV, and hepatitis C. He will continue to work on a variety of substance abuse treatment projects as part of a collaboration with the Division of Community and Public Health programs called the Program in Addiction Treatment Effectiveness and Economics (PATEE). He will also work with Dr. Brandon Aden to supervise the department’s General Preventive Medicine Residency Program, including preparing for ACGME re-accreditation.

Allison Dunning, MS, has been promoted to Research Biostatistician in the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. Ms. Dunning completed a B.S. degree in Statistics from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in Biostatistics from Virginia Commonwealth University. While in graduate school, she was a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant in Biostatistics, as well as an Adjunct Instructor of Statistics. Ms. Dunning joined the Department of Public Health in 2009. She currently works on collaborative projects with the Departments of Cardiac Imaging and Urology. She is writing two manuscripts from her master’s thesis, which was titled, “Comparing Bootstrap and Jackknife Variance Estimation Methods for Area under the ROC Curve Using One-Stage Cluster Survey Data.”

Ashley A. Eggman, MS, has been promoted to Research Coordinator in the Division of Health Policy. She is currently working on research projects involving the economic evaluation of testing and treatment for HIV and other sexually-transmitted diseases and the economic evaluation of a multi-institutional chronic pain management registry. She will also be assisting Dr. Yuhua Bao on a qualitative study on depression care management.
