Anna Sophia McKenney (Graduating Class of 2018) Awarded RSNA Medical Student Grant

Anna Sophia McKenney (Graduating Class of 2018) was recently awarded the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA)'s 2017 Medical Student Grant for a research project she proposed with Dr. Rob Young in the Radiology Department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The project, "Texture Feature and 4D Texture Kinetic Analyses of Dynamic Contrast Enhanced T1 MRI Perfusion of Pseudoprogression in Glioblastoma," explores detection of pseudoprogression in glioblastoma by integrating dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE)-MRI perfusion texture features and genomic mutation analyses in a multivariable machine learning model. If successful, the results will help identify patients who could potentially avoid invasive neurosurgery and/or delay such surgery through appropriate treatment protocols.
