Create a Personal Wiki Space

If you want to make a space that's meant just for you and your documents, then you should create a personal space. Once created, your personal space will replace your profile page, so remember that other users may expect to find your contact information within your space.

Personal spaces will not show up in the All Spaces list on the Dashboard, even for users that have view permissions. Personal spaces instead appear in the People Directory.

To create a personal space, refer to the following steps.

  1. Go to the 'Preferences' view for your user profile. To do this:
    • Log in to Confluence, if you have not already done so.
    • Go to your name at the top of the page. (This is the 'User' menu. A drop-down list will appear when your cursor hovers over the 'User' menu.)
    • Select 'Preferences' from the drop-down list. The 'Preferences' view will open.
  2. This will display your profile. Click the link 'Create Personal Space'.
  3. Enter a few details about your space:
    • Choose who can view content in your personal space. (Note that "Registered Users" means everyone with a CWID.)
    • Choose who can contribute (create and edit) content in your personal space. (Again, note that "Registered Users" means everyone with a CWID.)
    • Choose the Theme (look and feel) for your personal space.
  4. Click the 'Create' button.
  5. The 'Home' page for your new space is displayed.

Once your personal space is created, you can treat it the same as any other space.

You can easily access your personal space once you are logged onto the Wiki by selecting "Personal Space" from the User Menu.
