Legacy Webmail Client Available

TO: Users of the Webmail Service

ITS recently upgraded the Webmail service to our vendor's most current version. The upgrade was performed to allow the service to meet the growing demands of the institution.

We received substantial positive and negative feedback regarding the functionality of the new interface. In response to community feedback on the functionality of the new Webmail client, ITS offers as an alternative an updated version of the legacy Webmail client.  ITS is running the legacy version of Webmail in parallel with the new version.

You can get to the legacy version of Webmail by going to https://email.med.cornell.edu and clicking on the Legacy Server link on the bottom left hand side of the page.

Please be aware that:

  • The look of the client is a little different from our last version because the latest revision of the legacy Webmail was deployed.
  • The address book in the legacy version of webmail does not sync in any  way to the address book in the new version of webmail. The address  book in the legacy version of webmail uses a snapshot of data from  Saturday, March 8th 2009.  You can make changes to either one.
