WCMC FiberNet (Dark Fiber)
WCMC FiberNet (Dark Fiber) is an option we offer for remote sites that are heavily staffed, have large data transfer needs such as medical imaging and data intensive research, and primarily use clinical applications during patient visits.
For locations using this network connectivity, ITS provides Internet connection and access to resources on the main WCMC network.
What Is Included
- Support for ITS-tagged machines that meet the minimum requirements
- Depending on the site's distance from the main campus, limited on-site support
- Access and support for all ITS supported software, including up-to-date antivirus and firewall software and Microsoft Office
- Consultation with ITS to determine appropriate connection speeds and pricing for individual off-campus locations

Price varies based on size and complexity.
Prior to the start of each WCMC fiscal cycle, a memo is sent to the department administrator detailing the yearly rates which will be billed quarterly, in advance of service, and requesting a signature and account number for authorization and billing.
