Enterprise Firewall
Enterprise firewall regulates network traffic between untrusted sources (e.g. the Internet) and trusted sources (e.g. the WCMC network). It is often the first line of defense in preventing unwanted computers from accessing the WCMC network.
If you require specific network traffic to be allowed or blocked by the firewall, please refer to the WCMC Firewall Change Request Form (on the right) for instructions and to submit your request.
What Is Included
- The Enterprise Firewall blocks all network traffic that has not been explicitly allowed. For example, users are allowed to use Timbuktu to connect to their work computers from home because the firewall allows that connection. Similarly, users are blocked from making other types of remote connections to ITS-managed systems (e.g. departmental file servers) by the firewall.
