How to Logon to Listserv
To log onto listserv, use your email address (e.g. abc1234@med.cornell.edu) and email account password.How to Subscribe to a List
You can try to subscribe to any list by using the Subscribe link on the Listserv Information page. If the list is closed to subscriptions, Listserv will return an email to you stating that the list is closed.
Many lists require that you contact the list owner to be added as a subscriber. All owners of a particular list can be contacted by composing and email and addressing it to [LISTNAME]-request@listserv.med.cornell.edu, where [LISTNAME] is replaced by the name of the list, e.g., "teach-request@listserv.med.cornell.edu".
How to Unsubscribe from a List
You can try to unsubscribe to any list by using the Unsubscribe link on the Listserv Information page. If this method of unsubscribing is unsuccessful, please contact the list owner with your request.
How to Add a Subscriber Using the Web Interface
- Login to Listserv and the "List Management Dashboard" screen will appear
- Scroll down and locate the list to which you would like to add a subscriber
- Click "View" located in the subscriber column
- In the "Add Subscriber" box, enter the new subscriber's email address and full name. The subscriber's email address is required while their full name is optional
- Click the "Add Subscriber" button
- A confirmation that the new subscriber has been added will appear at the top of the page
How to Delete a Subscriber Using the Web Interface
- Login to Listserv and the "List Management Dashboard" screen will appear
- Scroll down and locate the list to which you would like to delete a subscriber
- Click "View" located in the subscriber column. A list of your current subscribers will appear at the bottom of the page
- Check off subscribers in which you would like to delete
- Click the "Delete Selected Subscribers" button located at the bottom of the page
- A confirmation that the selected subscribers were deleted will appear at the top of the page.
How to add Subscribers in Bulk
Owners can add subscribers in bulk from an imported text file (e.g. .txt file). Owners should create a Microsoft Word document and save it as a "plain text file" containing the subscriber's email address (required) and full name (optional).
- Login to Listserv and the "List Management Dashboard" screen will appear
- Pull-down the "Select List" menu and choose the list to which you would like to add subscribers
- Click on the "List Management" tab located at the top of the page
- Select "Subscriber Management" from the pull-down menu
- Click on the "Bulk Operations" tab. Listserv will provide 4 functions to choose from when adding subscribers in bulk.Please read all options carefully! Some options will remove all current subscribers!
- Choose an option by checking the corresponding radio button
- Click "Browse" to locate the file to import
- Choose the file in which you would like to import. Make sure the list of subscribers being imported is a ".txt" file
- Click "Import"
- A confirmation of the number of recipients added will appear that the top of the page
How to be Added as a List owner for a list Owned by Someone Else
To be added as an owner of a list, you must contact the current owner(s) of the list and request that you be added as an owner. If the current owner of the list does not reply or no longer works at Weill Cornell Medical College or NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, please contact ITS Service Desk to make your request.

All owners of a particular list can be contacted by composing and email and addressing it to [LISTNAME]-request@listserv.med.cornell.edu, where [LISTNAME] is replaced by the name of the list, e.g., "teach-request@listserv.med.cornell.edu".
How to Change Ownership of a Mailing List
List owners can be changed using the Listserv web tool.
Adding an Owner to a List
- Login to Listserv and the "List Management Dashboard" screen will appear
- Pull-down the "Select List" menu to select the list to which you would like to add an owner
- Click on the "List Management" tab located at the top of the page
- Click on "List Configuration" which will open a new menu of options
- Click on "Alphabetical Keyword List". This will open a list of all the settings that can be modified by the owner
- Scroll down and Click on the "Owner" keyword.
- In the "Owner =" box, enter the NEW Owner's email address. Multiple owners' addresses are separated by commas
- Click "Submit" to confirm the change.
Deleting an Owner of a List
- Login to Listserv and the "List Management Dashboard" screen will appear
- Pull-down the "Select List" menu and choose the list to which you would like to delete an owner
- Click on the "List Management" tab located at the top of the page
- Click on "List Configuration" and a new menu of options will appear

- In the "Owner =" box, delete the Owner's email address
