The PMO provides Project Management services as needed per project. Three standard service offerings are outlined below. We can also customize and agree upon services to best fit your needs. Contact the Project Management Office for more details.

Consult

The PMO will provide flexible experienced guidance to ensure best practices throughout the project

You decide how best to leverage our experienced capabilities. The PMO can act as a reviewer of project management artifacts or provide guidance during a specific segment of the Project Management Life Cycle. In addition, the PMO can assist with monitoring the project progress to ensure adherence to schedule, budget and scope. This will include providing recommendations for preventative and corrective actions to ensure a quality project. The PMO will accomplish this through preparation of a Charter and championing through SME and PRC approval, attendance and participation in review meetings, reviewing of project progress reports and expert judgment. The Project Executive and Project Team will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing the project. The Project Executive and Project Team will also be responsible for corrective and preventative actions. Additionally, the Project Executive in partnership with the Project Sponsor is ultimately accountable for the success of the project, while keeping all stakeholders well informed.

Plan

The PMO will provide experienced guidance to ensure best practices through the project planning phase.

As appropriate, the PMO will provide guidance and facilitate the development of the project management plan which may include a work breakdown structure, schedule, budget, scope management plan, risk plan, resource plan, communication plan, quality plan, governance plan and integration plan. The PMO's responsibility ends with project planning. The Project Executive and Project Team will be responsible to execute and close the project plan for this service. The Project Executive in partnership with the Project Sponsor is ultimately accountable for the success of the project, while keeping all stakeholders well informed.

Full

The PMO will have full authority and responsibility over all aspects of the project from Identify through Close.

At this service level, the PMO will apply leadership and project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. The PMO will apply and integrate project management processes to complete a quality project on schedule, within budget, and within scope. The Project Executive in partnership with the project sponsor is ultimately accountable for the success of the project.

Definition of artifact: A project deliverable that is for the consumption of the project team, stakeholders or management. We differentiate it from parts of the product or service being delivered. E.g. Project Management Plan, Budget, WBS.
