Departmental File Sharing
Departmental file sharing provides for secure data access to a central storage location that appears as a regular drive letter for a Windows user and a local hard drive for a Mac user.
What Is Included
- Assistance with the creation of folder and permissions hierarchy to only allow relevant users or groups access to content
- A redundant environment to provide optimal availability
- Tape backup of all data, a copy of which is then securely shipped to an offsite vault in New Jersey to ensure business continuity. This service is provided by Iron Mountain. For more information, please visit http://www.ironmountain.com/dataprotection/vault/
- Duplicate data storage area network at our secondary data center that can be brought online (as primary) in the event of a disaster with the primary storage. This duplicate copy is used to reduce restore time and effort during a disaster therefore minimizing disruption time
- Ongoing security monitoring and protection, including HIPAA compliance, except for certain application controls that are managed by the department. For a listing of security policies, visit the ITS Policies page
- Restoration service if data is accidentally deleted. You can request a restore for up to the last three versions of a file
- Virus protection
- Ability to establish a quota to restrict individual folder size
- Access and disk usage reporting
- Changes to folder and permissions structure
Cost
- One time $1,500 setup fee, plus:
- Annual fee of $5000 for the first 100GB of usable storage, plus
- Annual fee of $3000 for each incremental 100GB of storage
- No per user charge
