Unique Server Naming
Unique server naming provides vanity DNS. Domain Name System (DNS) translates URL text addresses (e.g grantasticdesigns.com) into numeric Internet addresses (e.g.201.214.12.6) for servers. This service is not available for workstations. It is only available for servers or medical/educational/ research equipment that has a need for vanity DNS name beyond what is provided as the default DNS name such as pc123456.med.cornell.edu or mac123456.med.cornell.edu.
What Is Included
- Vanity DNS name within the weill.cornell.edu domain
- Host the DNS service for domains that you have registered such as grantasticdesigns.com
- Mail Exchange (MX) records
- Round robin or other special DNS features
