WE KNIT BECAUSE WE CARE

If you missed our first meeting, then come to our next!

"WE KNIT BECAUSE WE CARE" CAMPAIGN

Whether you are an expert knitter or would like to learn, all are welcome. Tutorials as well as instructions on how to knit the tiny hats and blankets will be provided.

When: Wednesday, October 25, 2006

Time: 7:30pm

Where: Pharmacology Library, E-415

We are asking everyone to buy their own needles (size 4) to help defray the cost of our project. Needles are not expensive-just a few bucks. They can be purchased at:

Rainbow (76th and 1st)

321 Knit (75th between 1st and 2nd, on the north side)

Knit and Stitch (65th and 1st)

We Knit Because We Care is a new GSEC initiative to provide hand-knit hats and blankets to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital. The unit is in dire need to provide the hospital's littlest patients, who are often premature, with hats and blankets to keep them warm while they grow strong and healthy enough to go home.

GSEC has pledged 500 hats and blankets to the NICU, and we'd appreciate your help in reaching our goal!
