Earth Hour 2013-March 23 8:30PM

Green Leaders are meeting to plan our campus event as part of Earth Hour. But you can sign up now. Join over 1,000 of your Cornell colleagues and more than 1.8 billion people around the globe in the largest environmental flashmob in history!  Saturday night March 23rd from 8:30p - 9:30p turn off all non-essential power.  People, businesses and governments around the world unite each year to support the largest environmental event in history – Earth Hour.  Sign up on the Earth Hour website to be counted!

Be inspired by the offical video, and help to make this year even better.  Learn how you can save your own money, while saving the planet.  Then join us as we create our own Unpower Hour at workStay tuned to our Sustainability Website for details on our on campus events.

More than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries worldwide switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2011 alone, sending a powerful message for action on climate change. It also ushered in a new era with members going Beyond the Hour to commit to lasting action for the planet. Without a doubt, it’s shown how great things can be achieved when people come together for a common cause.
