Starbucks Recycling Pilot Program in NYC

Starbucks has made a point of saying they make an effort to contribute positively to the community and the environment.  So I've always wondered why they don't have recyling bins in their stores.  As it turns out, paper cups are difficult to recycle because of the coating on the cups.  That is, until now.

Starbucks is piloting a program in 7 Manhattan locations to test a new cup made of old corrugated cardboard.  These locations now contain recycling bins.  To read more information on this pilot program, and what it could mean to recycling programs everywhere, check out the full program details at Seven Starbucks Project Details.  And learn more about this type of retail recycling at Global Green USA.
