The Radiation Safety Office enforces and maintains safety standards within the institution and provides services and education to all laboratories and facilities at WCMC. Below are some of the services the Radiation Safety Office provides:

• Trains staff on the safe use of working with radioactive materials and radiation producing equipment
• Provides a centralized ordering system of radioactive isotopes
• Performs inspections & audits of radioactive materials within the laboratories
• Performs leakage tests on sealed sources
• Provides individual radiation dosimetry monitoring service
• Provides radioactive materials waste pick-up and disposal service
• Provides survey meter maintenance and calibration (does not include dose rate meters)
• Provides and maintains Beta & Gamma sample-counting equipment, as well an an iodination core facility
