Policy On Student Attendance

The Human Structure and Function course follows the WCMC student attendance policy as described in the student manual. Student attendance to all scheduled course activities, including lectures, is part of professionalism and is expected (or in some cases required). If a student for justified reasons is unable to attend a laboratory session in anatomy, histology or physiology, or a PBL session, he/she should notify - preferably in advance - the lab instructor or the PBL tutor by e-mail. If a student must be absent from all activities of the course for a day or more due to a justified cause such as a pre-planned family obligation, he/he should request the permission from the course director well in advance. Students with an illness that precludes their attendance from a class session should notify the course director as soon as possible. Students should review the schedule of labs, instructional sessions and exams in advance to be fully cognizant of the dates and times of required activities. Per the WCMC absence policy students are not permitted to miss or rearrange course activities based on travel arrangements, obtaining cheaper flights, leaving on holiday "early" or returning "late" etc. Students who miss required activities for whatever reason are expected to complete the missed work satisfactorily.
