Students in Weill Cornell Medical College are eligible to apply for the dual degree before the fourth year of medical school. Students who will receive a dual degree will begin their program in the medical college and take a one-year leave of absence after the third year. They then join the Johnson School's Accelerated MBA program in the summer immediately following their third year of medical school and complete the MBA degree requirements by the following May.
Medical students in their fourth year may apply for the Accelerated MBA program which they will begin at the completion of their fourth year, but should do so before the December 15 deadline.
Dual degree students are offered 15 credit hours of advanced standing and complete 20 hours of core and 25 hours of elective courses to fulfill the 60-hour requirement for the MBA program. The MBA degree is granted after the student completes the fourth year of medical school and obtains the MD degree.
Please visit the Johnson School's admissions page for application requirements and deadlines. Lee Family MD/MBA, PhD/MBA Program awardees are eligible for financial aid.
One student each year (alternating years, two students) will be granted a full-tuition scholarship for the Johnson School portion of the program, thanks to the generosity of Charles R. Lee and the Lee Family Foundation. To apply for this scholarship, after applying to the Accelerated MBA program at the Johnson School, please send a letter with the following information:
