Weill Cornell seeks applicants who uphold
the highest academic and personal standards. WCMC is among the most
selective medical schools in the nation. Each year the Committee
on Admissions selects one hundred and one students from among more
than six thousand applicants. The Committee seeks students who it
feels are best prepared for future leadership roles in medicine.
In addition to thorough preparation in the basic sciences, applicants
should have a broad liberal arts education with demonstrated accomplishment
in the humanities and social sciences.
We attempt to identify the best qualified applicants from diverse
academic and personal backgrounds. In keeping with the principles
of Weill Medical College and Cornell University, we seek students
with outstanding academic accomplishments who have also demonstrated
exceptional personal initiative. Such initiative may take the form
of leadership, creativity, research, community service, motivation,
or other life experiences.
