The Joan and Sanford I. Weill Education Center is a state-of-the-art educational facility. Its 21 teaching rooms, each equipped with four large-monitor Macintosh computers and readily convertible into laboratories for microscopy, are ideal for small group learning. Please see current updates to the Education Center here. The Weill Auditorium also uses cutting-edge technology, including such amenities as modem and electrical outlets at every seat.
Computers are used prominently in the WMC curriculum, including text, anatomic and microscopic images, video, sound, animations, simulations, bibliographic searching, access to databases, etc. More than 120 terminals are available throughout the Education Center and the library.
The Weill Greenberg Center is home to the 10,000 square foot state of the art Margaret and Ian Smith Clinical Skills Center. The center houses a 500 square foot patient simulator suite with a Meti Human Patient Simulator (HPS), and a standardized patient center with 10 out-patient and 2 in-patient rooms. All instructional and simulation space are outfitted with digital capture devices to allow students and faculty to remotely view, and review, their training sessions. The review of captured encounters, scheduling of standardized patient session and student grading for these sessions is managed by the B-Line software system. The CSC also houses a 35 seat case study room and a variety of conference spaces with capabilities like video conferencing, distance learning capture, wireless internet access, presentation and electronic whiteboard technologies and audio conferencing. There are also a number of conference room and other spaces that can be utilized by students for meetings, study and collaboration.
The Weill Cornell Medical Library, composed of the Samuel J. Wood Library and the C.V. Starr Biomedical Information Center, is a completely modern information resource. It contains extensive printed materials (books and journals) as well as numerous electronic resources.
