Dr. O. Wayne Isom Becomes 24th Recipient of Maurice R. Greenberg Distinguished Service Award
Highly respected cardiothoracic surgeon, educator, and researcher Dr. O. Wayne Isom, the Terry Allen Kramer Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and chairman of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, is the 28th recipient of the Maurice R. Greenberg Distinguished Service Award.
 
Heather Tauschek, David Clayson Award Winner, Exhibits Art at Wright Center
"Painting, drawing, and playing the piano and flute are my articulation of the sensory experiences that make us human," says Heather Tauschek, Class of 2004. "[They express] my moments of contemplating the world I inhabit." Tauschek, winner of the 2003 David Clayson Prize for Creativity, exhibited her artwork at the Irving Sherwood Wright Center on Aging on April 15 and 29.
 
Medical Students Remember Those Who Donated Their Bodies for Medical and Scientific Study
At the "Anatomy Memorial Service: Remembering Those Who Gave Themselves to Humankind," first-year students in Weill Cornell's Program in Gross Anatomy and Body Visualization hosted a moving tribute for those who donated their bodies for the benefit of medical and scientific study.
 
Middle-School Science Teachers Attend Workshop at Weill Cornell
On April 17, 20 middle-school teachers from New York City public schools and surrounding counties spent their Saturday at Weill Cornell conducting hands-on labs and attending a lecture organized by the Fellowships and Outreach Office of Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences (WGSMS). The purpose of the workshop, modeled after a similar program for high-school teachers, was to update the teachers' knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques and recent findings in biomedical science.
