Citigroup Biomedical Imaging Center Opens
Unlocking the mysteries of the body's biological and cognitive processes—with the help of some of the most advanced functional imaging equipment in the world—will be the day-to-day work of researchers in Weill Cornell's new Citigroup Biomedical Imaging Center.
 
September 11 Memorials
The Medical College will commemorate the first anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy through memorials on Sept. 11. Weill Cornell staff and students along with their colleagues at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital will have the opportunity to participate in some memorial activities, marking one of the most tragic events in American history when our nation was the scene of multiple terrorist attacks.
 
New Medical Students Welcomed
Weill Cornell Medical College officially welcomed the students in the first-year class—the Class of 2006—at the traditional White Coat Ceremony and Opening Exercises held on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
 
New Graduate Students Welcomed
Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Cornell University welcomed 38 students for the new academic year. Orientation activities, which began on Aug. 18, included a reception; a walking tour of Weill Cornell, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and The Rockefeller University; a formal welcoming program in Weill Auditorium; a cruise around Manhattan; a Yankees baseball game; and a softball game in Central Park.
