The CTSC Graduate Program in C/T Investigation

The Graduate Program in Clinical and Translational Investigation at Weill Cornell Medical College was established in the fall 2005 as a joint teaching endeavor forged among Weill Cornell Medical College, the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences and the Cornell University Ithaca Campus. The Master's degree-granting institution is the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, which shares the same campus as the Medical School.

The Program, originally funded by the National Institutes of Health through a K30 Curriculum Award, was subsumed under the Clinical & Translational Education Program (CTEP) as of September 2007 when Weill Cornell Medical College was awarded a Clinical & Translational Science Award (CTSA) and designated as a Clinical & Translational Science Center (CTSC). This rigorous yet flexible multidisciplinary program was developed to educate and train highly motivated individuals to become successful, independent clinical investigators -- as well as leaders for the advancement of scientific knowledge and treatment of human disease.

The Graduate Program in Clinical and Translational Investigation offers the option of two tracks for enrollment, namely a Certificate in Clinical Investigation in one year or a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Investigation in two years. The Certificate program is comprised of a wide array of core curriculum classes in clinical research. The second year of the Master's Degree Program track provides clinical research experience through a mentored clinical research project conducted on the General Clinical Research Center. Supplementary to the core curriculum, scholars pursue specific clinical interests through electives.
