Request process:

  • Accessing POIS EMR resources requires that at least one member of the study team have a Weill Cornell appointment. Weill Cornell researchers can request access using our on-line request forms from inside Weill Cornell (or using WebVPN):

EMR Resources for Research

Medical Informatics resources for investigators are provided through Weill Cornell’s Physician Organization Information Services (POIS) under the leadership of Dr. Adam Cheriff, Chief Medical Information Officer, and Dr. Curtis Cole, M.D., Chief Information Officer and Acting Co-Director of the CTSC Biomedical Informatics Program. These resources focus on integration between research and clinical care, including access to clinical data for research purposes, data sharing, standards and interoperability.

Current services include:

  • Data extraction and reporting from the clinical and administrative data warehouses
  • EMR Subject Recruitment and other Decision Support Alert requests
    (notifying providers in the EMR if their patient meets eligibility criteria for a study)
  • Clinical Trials Management System
  • Research data entry forms development within the EpicCare EMR
  • Patient/subject data entry forms development with the Weill Cornell Connect Patient Portal (aka MyChart)
