Title: INSIGHT Outpatient Study (FLU 002): An International Observational Study to Characterize Adults with Influenza

Study Description: The purpose of this study is to better understand how different characteristics affect people’s experiences of the flu.  This study also seeks to further determine how the flu affects different individuals and how different strains of the flu virus affect people differently.  Sometimes people can be infected with two different strains of the flu virus going around in the same season.  It is important to better understand how prior treatment or vaccination affects the course of the flu in different people.  This study will help doctors better understand how to treat patients infected with the flu. 

Involvement: Blood Draws, Nose and Throat Q-tip swab, Medical History Interview

Age: 18+

Eligibility: Flu-like symptoms (feverishness, cough and/or sore throat)

Commitment: 2 visits over approximately 2 weeks
