Technology Transfer Office

The early demonstration of viability, efficacy or safety allows for early identification of technologies with long-term promise. Bringing expertise and resources to the CTSC, the Technology Transfer Office encourages the submission of promising ideas. As new ideas enter at the wide-end of an innovation funnel, the role of CTSC Technology Transfer Office is to usher such projects through a series of assessments to help identify those likely to succeed. At each stage, the Technology Transfer Office provides advice, thereby helping to shape studies whose results would be of interest to potential commercial partners.

The principal objective of the Technology Transfer Office is to promote innovation and facilitate public access to inventions and discoveries resulting from translational research at partnering institutions. It ensures that promising ideas and innovative projects developed under the auspices of the CTSC, are followed and appropriately protected as they enter the clinical/translational pipeline. Its specific aims are designed to promote inventiveness, protect intellectual property, provide gap funding and help find commercial partners for promising technologies.
